Vascular Lesion Removal Overview
Vascular lesions, such as spider veins, hemangiomas, and other vessels, are common skin blemishes that form on the face and legs. Vascular lesions, although harmless, are often seen as a bothersome and annoying cosmetic concern. Many women find them hard to conceal with makeup and others simply want them removed to reveal a clearer complexion. Luckily, Precision Laser offers a safe and effective solution to these unsightly blemishes.
How Vascular Lesion Removal Works
During a treatment, our Astanza MeDioStar laser directs light energy into the skin where it’s absorbed by the hemoglobin of blood in the undesired vessel. The absorption of energy causes the blood to warm up significantly and leads to inflammation of the inner vessel’s wall and occlusion of the vessel. Although the blood absorbs the light energy, the water in the surrounding skin does not. Since skin consists mainly of water, there is very minimal risk of damaging the skin around the vessel, making vascular lesion removal a very safe procedure.
How many treatments will I need?
Vascular lesion treatments are very quick and require no downtime. In most cases, clients will see results after a single treatment. Larger vessels may require 2 or 3 treatments spaced at least six weeks apart.
Are there any side effects?
Vascular lesion removal is extremely safe, especially with our MeDioStar’s VAS handpiece which is specifically designed to target unwanted spider veins. The most common side effects are temporary redness and swelling immediately after treatment. Pigment changes or light bruising may occur, but all of these will heal naturally without leaving any scars.
