Acne Treatment Overview
Acne is one of the most common and complicated skin conditions that virtually everyone has experienced. Acne is not a problem faced solely by teenagers; people of all ages can develop acne and feel self-conscious with their appearance. It’s a skin condition that affects the sebaceous follicles and is commonly found on the face, back, and chest. Acne starts as a non-inflammatory blackhead and later develops various inflammatory symptoms like pustules and papules. Precision Laser now offers an effective alternative laser therapy option to antibiotic and antiseptic treatments.
How Acne Treatment Works
During a treatment, our Astanza MeDioStar laser works similarly to hair removal by using infrared radiation to penetrate deep into the skin to reach the sebaceous gland follicles. There, the bacteria and fungi that cause acne are destroyed by the light energy which causes the inflamed sebaceous gland to shrink and clear.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed depends on the severity of the acne. However, most clients need approximately 3 to 5 treatments spaced one week apart.
Are there any side effects?
You may experience temporary redness immediately following treatment. Clients may experience slight discomfort due to the inflammation of the acne, however our MeDioStar’s cooling handpiece alleviates and cools the skin throughout the entirety of the treatment.
