Laser Hair Removal FAQ

How many treatments will I need?

For lasting hair reduction, most clients typically need a minimum of 6 to 10 treatments spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. Every client will need multiple treatment sessions in order to target each hair during its active growing stage, also known as the anagen phase, when definite hair growth is noticeable.

Can you treat all hair and skin types?

Yes! Our MeDioStar’s unique wavelength combination, integrated cooling system, and 360º skin cooling handpieces ensure the safest treatment for all skin types I-VI, including newly tanned skin. We can also treat all hair types, but with some limitations. The key to a successful laser hair removal treatment is in the melanin of the hair, so each hair pigment will react differently to the laser. For example, clients with dark hair and light skin will have a high response rate compared to someone with white and grey hair. The MeDioStar can still treat all hair colors and skin types, but generally clients with a higher contrast between skin and hair type will experience faster results.

Which areas can you treat?

Precision Laser can treat all body areas, including intimate areas. Our Monolith XL and M handpieces are designed to treat both large and small areas with precision and efficiency. The most common treatment areas are the legs, arms, face, underarms, back, neck, bikini, and chest.

Is the laser safe?

Absolutely! Our Astanza MeDioStar is FDA-approved and can safely treat all skin types. It features TAPER technology to evenly distribute heat and energy to prevent hot spots and overtreatment of the skin, therefore reducing risks of unwanted side effects.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Unlike other lasers, our MeDioStar is notorious for delivering pain-free treatments. Each of our handpieces has 360º contact skin cooling and immediately cools the skin prior to each treatment pulse, guaranteeing patient comfort every session.

How long are treatments?

Thanks to our MedioStar’s industry-leading XL handpiece’s 10 cm2 spot size, we can treat a full back in as little as 4 minutes! For perspective, other lasers take a minimum of 15 minutes to treat large areas like full back, legs, and chest. That being said, treatment duration depends on the number of areas you decide to treat. One thing is certain, Precision Laser delivers the fastest laser hair removal treatments throughout Easton, PA.

Are there any side effects or downtime?

Laser hair removal has little to no side effects and no downtime. You can come in during your lunch break, get a fast treatment, and be on with your day. This noninvasive procedure uses advanced light energy to safely penetrate through the skin and only target melanin in hair follicles without damaging any surrounding skin tissue. The only side effects you may experience are temporary redness, itchiness, and swelling of the skin, which often heal within a couple of hours following treatment. Aloe vera is used to soothe the skin post treatment.
